The Merge is coming
Important Announcement: End of Ethereum Proof of Work
Dear Ethereum miners,
The Ethereum Merge to Proof of Stake is coming. Since the start of the Ethereum project, one of the core items was to transition the consensus mechanism to Proof of Stake. As a consequence, you will not be able to mine Ethereum after it happens.
What is the so-called Merge?
The Merge will mark the end of Ethereum mining, with either ASICs or GPUs. For more information, please check our blog section if you want more insights about The Merge.
What will happen to your balance?
We keep the current payout system for all Cruxpool Ethereum miners.
Miners can mine Ethereum on Cruxpool until September 15, 2022 at around 2pm, which is until The Merge.
We pay from the usual thresholds: 0.01 ETH Layer 1 and Layer 2 for the minimum threshold and 10 ETH Layer 1 and Layer 2 for the maximum threshold.
For Ethereum Layer 2, the transaction fees are paid by Cruxpool. Whereas, for Ethereum Layer 1, miners will have to pay the transaction fees themselves.
For miners who have not reached the minimum threshold, a form with different payout options will be set up in order to offer various solutions. The form will be made available to miners starting September 15, 2022 at around 2:00 pm, after The Merge. We will come back to you about it.
This is the end of Ethereum Proof of Work, but not the end of mining! To continue mining other coins we suggest joining one of our other high performance mining pools:
- Mine Bitcoin, join our BTC mining pool.
- Mine Ethereum Classic, join our ETC mining pool.
- Mine Ravencoin, join our RVN mining pool.
- Mine Ergo, join our ERGO mining pool.
- Mine Flux, join our mining pool.
If you have more questions, please join our Discord server or our Telegram server.
We would like to thank you for your continued trust in Cruxpool.
Happy mining on Cruxpool!
